What is a Sample Night?
We will be open from 7PM – 9PM for an event where you can check out our newly renovated space and enjoy some free samples. All we ask from you is that you fill out a brief survey letting us know what you think of your time at the Green Bean so we can tune things up for our grand opening. On each Sample Night, we will be offering different selections from our menu so you may have to come more then once to really get a feel for what we’re about.
We’re really excited about seeing many of you and showing off the café over the next few weeks, so please don’t be shy to come on out.

We have four Sample Nights scheduled. If you’ve contacted us already about an invitation, we’ll be in touch with you today to find out which night(s) you would like to come. If you haven’t signed up yet, leave a comment on the website, letting us know which day you would like to come and you’ll be all set.
Sample Night Schedule
Wednesday, August 26 from 7 PM – 9 PM

Due to some things we can’t control (and a few we maybe could have) our grand opening has moved to September 8th. If anyone had made special plans to come to the Green Bean tomorrow we apologize but rest assured, this brief delay will be worth it.
As some conciliation for changing our opening date, we will be having a series of Sample Nights leading up to our opening. Our first night is Wednesday, August 26. On these nights we will be open from 7PM – 9PM for a by invitation only event where you can check out our newly renovated space and enjoy some free samples. All we ask from you is that you let us know what you think of your time at the Green Bean so we can tune things up by our grand opening.
Interested in coming to a Sample Night? All you have to do is leave a comment on the website and we’ll get back to you by Monday night (August 24) to confirm your invitation.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll post the dates and times of the Sample Nights so you can choose which one you would like to attend.

We are so excited about the progress we made today. We removed tons of garbage, lights were hung, floors swept and we started setting up the furniture.
Huge thanks to everyone who came by and helped out today (Sorry I missed you today, Mike).

Only a few days to go and things are still all over the place. This photo was taken this morning. I have a feeling that by the time I make it back to the café this evening things will have come along quite a bit.
Our coffee maker was dropped off this morning and right as I was leaving the plumber showed up to finish off their work on the counter.
In five days we are going to be serving someone coffee.
Yikes.

After only two days of waiting, we got our new sign yesterday afternoon! We’d been working all day on the renovations so we might look a little rough, but the sign sure doesn’t. Huge thanks to Dan over at Printhouse (511 Pelissier, 519.551.3825) for doing such a great and speedy job. Dan also made us some “coming soon” signs to put up but I left them on his desk at Printhouse.
Construction on our serving counter mostly wrapped up yesterday and a lot of the tools and garbage were cleaned out. On the whole, the café is much more presentable now (but still needs lots of work).

Applications for the Green Bean Café are now available. If you’re interested in applying, you can download a copy of the application here. When you return the application, please include a resumé as well.
We are looking to do our hiring in the next week, so please act fast if you would like to apply.
