Reading Week Hours

Posted: February 19th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: News | 1 Comment »

Well it’s reading week. For many of  our customers that means heading home for a week, relaxing and getting lots of *cough* work done. We will be open during reading week with some small adjustments to our hours. Our hours for the week of February 21-26 will be:

Monday, Feb 21 (Family Day): CLOSED

Tuesday, Feb 22: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Wednesday, Feb 23: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Thursday, Feb 24: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Friday, Feb 25: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Saturday, Feb 26: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Open Mic will be held at it’s usual time on Thursday night. Since you’ll have some extra time this week, there really isn’t an excuse for not breaking out the guitar and sharing a song with us.

We hope everyone has a relaxing and productive reading week! Our regular hours resume on Monday, February 28 at 8:00 AM.

New Menu Cards

Hungry for takeout? Prefer to hold a menu in your hand rather then reading it off our menu boards? Want to spread the word to your entire residence about the Green Bean? This menu card your answer.

Ok, this may not be the biggest news story today, but we think they turned out nice and we thought you might like them to. So, if you want one, come and take one. Or take a bunch and give them to all your friends.

Holiday Hours

It’s hard to believe that another semester had come and gone so fast. With Christmas just around the corner we will be going on a brief hiatus to regroup for 2011. A big thank you to everyone who came out this fall. This has hands down been our best four months yet and we couldn’t have done it without your support.

We will be closed from Saturday, December 18 to Sunday, January 2.

We will reopen for business on Monday, January 3 at 8:00 AM.

Have a great Christmas break and see you in 2011!

Green Bean is back!

Summer break is over. We loved the sun, the beach and our personal massive move and home renovation project but time to pack away the tent, fire up the espresso machine and head back to the café. Starting tomorrow, we will be resuming our regular school year hours.

We’re super excited about the fall and hoping to see everybody and hear about your summer vacations.

In the meantime, I’ll toss this out your way and let you know that next week (Sept 6 – 11) will be the Green Bean’s one year anniversary and we will be celebrating in style. Stay tuned for our party plans…

Green Bean + Downtown Farmer’s Market = Awesome

Posted: June 18th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: , , | No Comments »

From http://downtownfarmersmarket.ca:

The Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization that connects residents of Windsor and surrounding areas to the farmers of Essex County by providing residents with local, fresh and in-season food in an accessible setting. We aim to raise the profile of local food producers and entrepreneurs by giving them a venue in which to sell their goods, while educating the public about the rich agricultural diversity that exists in Essex County.  Through partnerships we work to build a stronger sense of community, restore the positive image of downtown and bring vitality back to our city.

Green Bean Café is happy to announce that we will be at the Downtown Windsor Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning in June from 8AM to 1PM. Last week was our first week and we had a great time meeting new people, chatting with other vendors and enjoying a beautiful summer morning. There were tons of vendors there this past Saturday and a constant crowd of people from 8AM on.

The market is located at the old downtown bus station at 44 University Ave. East and you can find all kinds of other information at the Downtown Windsor Farmer’s Market website. Hope to see you there!
